Afraid to coach? Don't be!

When registering your child for the next soccer season, please consider applying to coach. It will mean a lot to your child and many other youth in the community. Be a part of the success of Highland Soccer Club!

Coaching Myths Debunked
Myth: I didn’t play soccer, so I shouldn’t coach it.
Truth: Ideally, all teams in a division will practice together and will follow the same coaching plans. You will learn as you go! Other online resources are available too! And sometimes the kids just need a patient, kind leader. That could be you!

Myth:
I don’t have time.
Truth: If you will be at practice anyway, and since practices are planned for you, you won’t need to spend much extra time preparing. So, why not?!

Myth:
I don’t have anyone to help me.
Truth: In the spring, we have several high school varsity players who like to help out. They will be a great resource and help keep practices and games running smoothly.

Myth:
My job takes me out of town from time to time, so I’m afraid I’ll miss practice.
Truth: Since all teams in a division will practice together, your team can be absorbed into the entire group. Just be in touch with the other coaches in your division to make them aware when you can’t make it to a practice.
